MULAGO – Luiji Candia, 69 years the proprietor of Pacific Hotel, which the army invaded on the last day of Arua Municipality parliamentary by-election campaign in August 2018, has died.
He passed away at Mulago National Referral Hospital on Sunday 7th July 7, 2019 morning, according to family members.
According to a family member, Candia suffered a stroke in Arua on Wednesday, this week, and was moved first to St Francis Hospital Nsambya in Kampala, before being transfered to Mulago.
The actual cause of death is yet to be established, pending autopsy.
But doctors told relatives Candia had suffered brain damage as a result of the stroke, rendering him unable to speak in his last days.
