Police clarifies on Al-Shabaab arrest in Kisenyi

KAMPALA, Uganda Police Force has dismissed social media reports of four suspected terrorists arrested in Kisenyi on Sunday.

Mr Fred Enanga, the forces spokesperson said no arrest has been made as reported.

This follows Nairobi attack by Al-Shabaab terrorist that left 21 people dead and several injured.

No one has been arrest, ignore the social media reports, Mr Enanga told journalists in Kampala Monday January 21, 2019.

He added, such messages encourage the terrorists to carry on with their work. One who originated the message has been arrested in Nairobi Kenya.”

According to the trending messages, the public was urged to avoid happening places and congested places claiming four Alshabaab fighters have been arrested in Kisenyi.

“They have a plan of hitting Kampala two weeks from the Nairobi incident. Take care. May God protect all of us,” read the message on watsapp.
