KAMPALA. State minister for Investment Evelyn Anite has written to the Speaker of Parliament Ms Rebecca Kadaga for leave to pursue a masters degree in law. In a letter dated July 5th, 2018, Ms Anite, who is also woman Member of Parliament for Koboko district, is due to travel to the United States of America for her further studies. “During my absence, Hon. David Bahati, State Minister for Finance General Duties will hold my portfolio,” the letter seen by The Uganda Vanguard reads in parts. Ms Anite was one of the main advocates for the recent constitutional amendment of the presidential age limit (75 years) clause. She was appointed minister after her controversial kneeling before President Yoweri Museveni at Kyankwazi Leadership Institute to contest as president for the fourth five year term. Ms Anite has also been at the centre of shopping for an investor for Uganda Telecom, that has been rocked with bribery allegations.
