Christians arrested over defying Museveni

KAJJANSI – Police in Kajjansi have arrested a Pastor and thirty of his followers for defying the Presidential directives. According to Patrick Onyango, Spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan Police, Pastor Rashid Mutebi of Blessed Feelings Church International located in Gobe, Kajjansi and his followers were picked Wednesday, March 25th, 2020 morning after Police received information about their illegal activities at the Church.
“On interrogation, the Pastor alleges that the Christians came from far and he was still looking for money to transport them to their homes. The followers were cautioned and released,” he said in a post on social media.
Onyango further explained, “The Pastor is currently detained at Kajjansi Police station.”
It is not clear if the Pastor is to be taken to court.
Police on Tuesday also arrested about 150 people in different public gatherings contrary to the President’ directive against public gatherings as measure to control corona pandemic that has now infected 14 people in Uganda thousands world wide. Over ten thousand have been killed with largest victims being in Italy and Spain.
